Loughborough University gets intelligent security from SDC
Optimum-PDM has recently written a series of articles and press releases for Security Design Centre. One article covered the comprehensive security system SDC recently developed and installed at Loughborough University. Nick Bowden, MD of Optimum-PDM, saw this as an opportunity to revisit Loughborough University where he was a student in the late 80s!
Interviewing the security managers it became apparent that the University had very specific needs which SDC had understood and addressed. These include using CCTV dome cameras to monitor activity across the 500 acre campus, directing patrol staff to incidents as they occurr. They also use web based cameras so that students can see how busy the various refectories on campus are before deciding when or where to eat. Even more surprising was the need for an access control system to limit traffic on the campus. In Nick's day everyone had bikes or walked - now its only the lecturers!
The Loughborough University article ran in the leading education magazine University Business and a number of security publications. SDC director, Mike Paul explained, "SDC has experienced increased interest as a result of the PR work carried out by Optimum-PDM and we are following up many new leads".
Articles of this type are a highly effective way to profile your business.
